New Music: NONONO – “Pumpin’ Blood”

NONONO's "Pumpin' Blood" streaming free

Every so often a song comes along that just makes you feel good about being alive.  “Pumpin’ Blood” is one of those songs. Equal parts Rusted Root’s “Send Me On My Way” and Icona Pop’s “We Got the World,” “Pumpin’ Blood” is a stomping indie pop tune about taking charge and celebrating life.  I think.  NONONO is from Sweden and admittedly the lyrics are a little difficult to understand at times, but the important bits come through loud and clear: “You’re a catalyst to your own happiness, you know.  This is your heart, it’s alive, it’s pumpin’ blood.”  And then there’s some really catchy whistling.  But it’s not 2011 gimmicky whistling, it just fits.

NONONO is a three person group made up of vocalist Stina Wappling and producers Astma and Rocwell (who have worked with Swedish sensation Icona Pop in the past).  The trio are currently signed to Best Fit Recordings and are working on their debut album.  “Pumpin’ Blood” is exclusively a Scandinavian release at this point, but their official Facebook page tells us that it’s streaming on Spotify.  Check out the track via the group’s official Soundcloud below!
