Okay, I hate this. No, I love this. I hate that I love this. “Feeling Myself,” a bumping profanity-laced track lifted from will.i.am’s upcoming “#willpower” re-release, hit the Internet yesterday. The DJ Mustard produced song features the new first lady of hip hop, Miley Cyrus, and rappers Wiz Khalifa and French Montana. Everybody plays their part to a T: the guys rap about bottle service and smoking weed and Miley raps about twerking and popping molly in the club. Blergh.
On the one hand, it’s boring and predictable. On the other hand, will and Miley sound really good together on the ridiculous, self-aggrandizing hook: “Look up in the mirror, the mirror look at me, the mirror be like baby you da sh-t, g-ddamnit, you da sh-t…” It goes on like that. Considerably foul, but incredibly catchy.
The “#willpower” re-release is expected sometime next month. Check out “Feeling Myself” via Soundcloud below!
