I’m obsessed with this happy little number that celebrates the power of saying, “F*** you!!” to anonymous internet trolls. “Slouched behind a keyboard, your fingertips are nails. I bet face to face your social skills surprisingly fail…” Continue reading
Even at only 11 tracks, “The 20/20 Experience” is still too long. Admittedly, the album just isn’t designed for the way I consume music (I have a short attention span and I firmly believe that the perfect pop song is around three minutes and thirty seconds), but some of these tracks are just ridiculous. Jessica Sanchez and Ne-Yo stopped by American Idol this week to perform their new single, “Tonight.” You may remember that I reviewed an underwater recording of “Tonight” a couple of weeks ago, but now we finally have the song in high quality. And it’s a total smash. Continue reading
One of my good friends introduced me to this song the other night and I was instantly hooked. The acoustic guitar on the chorus combined with Tiara Thomas’s raw, honest delivery is so refreshing. Wale raps about getting involved with a girl who can’t commit and Tiara sings about what it’s like to be that girl. Who can’t relate? “Yeah I’ll be good in bed, but I’ll be bad to you.”
Indianapolis based singer-songwriter Tiara Thomas is signed to Wale’s label The Board Administration. She is currently working on her debut LP, “Sallie Mae.” Check out the official music video below.
This song is actually amazing until the chorus hits and you’re like, “Wait, this tin can beat?”
But then you get used to it and you’re just like, “THE WHOOOLE WOOOOORLD IS DANCIN’! YEAH WE’RE YOUNG AND WE’RE WILD AND WE’RE CRAZY! LIVE IT UP LIVE IT UP! OHHH WHOOOA OH OH OH OHHH! OHHH WHOOOA OH OH OH!”
And she raps on the bridge. It’s perfect. Put it in your ears.
Coco Jones is a Disney girl. Her first EP, “Made Of” hit iTunes last week featuring collaborations with the one and only Toby Gad (“Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “If I Were a Boy,” and now, “World Is Dancing”).
Beyonce dropped buzz single “Bow Down/I Been On” today in an attempt to tide everybody over until she manages to release something official. Fans will eat it up but the rest of us (me) are tired of hearing about how great she is. Put out some great music and then we’ll talk.
Beyonnaise’s tour starts in like three weeks and still not even a whiff of a new single. My guess is that she turned in another R&B stinker like “4” and the label pitched a fit. Hopefully they sent her back to the studio to make some pop hits because, well, she could use some.
“Play me like your Xbox, it’s your call of duty, tear down these walls,” newcomer LIZ sings on her insanely addictive new single, “XTC.” The song, which label Mad Decent describes as “tasteful post-ratchet lollipop,” combines the smooth R&B stylings of 90’s INOJ with bubblegum pop and trap.
“XTC” was released through Mad Decent’s new mini-imprint Jeffrees, which releases a free song from a new artist every Thursday via their official Tumblr. Eventually, these free tracks are compiled and released together as an EP on iTunes. LIZ’s other offering on the Jeffrees Vol. 7 EP, “Underdogs,” isn’t nearly as impressive, but if she can deliver more songs with the unique vibe of “XTC,” I’m in.
What’s that? You want MORE of will.i.am grunting and groaning like a robot over a 4/4 kick? You got it, dude. Continue reading
America knows EXACTLY how much Christina Aguilera it wants, and the answer is 30 seconds. Following her 30 second guest spot on Maroon 5’s #1 song “Moves Like Jagger,” Xtuna has attached herself to another radio hit: Pitbull’s terribleawesome, “Feel This Moment” – but only for about 30 seconds at a time on the hook. Continue reading
Paramore made their not-so-triumphant return back in January with drab lead single, “Now.” In the wake of “Now” under-performing, the band released the second single from their upcoming self-titled album to YouTube this morning called, “Still Into You.” And it’s a vast improvement. Continue reading
