Demos That Did It Better

Thanks to hackers and YouTube, pop fans are now able to listen to a slew of unfinished demo material that was probably never meant for public consumption.  It’s great (for us…not the artists).  Sometimes, a demo ends up being way more awesome than the finished product.  Sometimes, a demo never sees the light of day and it’s a massive injustice!  Check out a list of some of my favorite demos and unreleased jams after the jump. New Music: Ke$ha feat. – “Crazy Kids”

Ke$ha's "Crazy Kids" streaming free is just everywhere lately, isn’t he?  We learned yesterday afternoon through media website AllAccess that Ke$ha’s third single from her “Warrior” album is “Crazy Kids,”  but what we DIDN’T know until today is that the radio version of the song features a verse from  As I mentioned a few days ago, does have co-writing credit on “Crazy Kids,” and while “Warrior” was being recorded, it was rumored that he would feature on a song with Ke$h.  So I guess we should’ve seen this coming.

Ke$ha stans the world over seem to be pretty pissed about this revelation, but I’m not.  will’s hot right now and his verse is a lot of fun.  Ke$ha’s last single “C’Mon” wasn’t exactly a radio hit, so maybe a feature from will is the bump she needs to climb back on top!  Stream the radio version of “Crazy Kids” via AllAccess and let me know what you think in the comments!

P.S.  Doesn’t she look incredible on the single cover?  I mean, wow.

New Music: feat. Miley Cyrus – “Fall Down”'s "Fall Down" streaming free

“Fall Down,” the first promo single from’s “#willpower” album, leaked a little early this evening…and it’s a total ripoff of Ke$ha’s “Crazy Kids.”  I’m always skeptical when I hear people say things like, “OMG THIS SONG SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE THAT SONG!!!”  But actually: this song sounds exactly like “Crazy Kids.”  I guess it makes sense.  Reportedly, “Fall Down” was co-produced by Dr. Luke and “Crazy Kids” was co-written by, but that doesn’t make it OK.

“Crazy Kids” isn’t the only thing they’re borrowing from, though.  Check out will trying to serve “The 20/20 Experience” during the final 30 seconds.  Mess.  But the chorus does kind of put a pep in my step…

Check out “Fall Down” for yourself and let me know what you think!

New Music: Ke$ha feat. Lady Loyd & Detox – “Pretty Lady”

Ke$ha's "Pretty Lady" streaming free

Another day, another amazing Ke$ha leak.  “Pretty Lady” actually leaked a while ago in a much less finished form, but the version that surfaced a few days ago is more explosive and polished.  The hook.  The drag queen middle eight that features Detox of Rupaul’s Drag Race fame.  The ROCK energy.  This is easily better than a quarter of the songs on “Warrior.”  I’m not saying this would be a hit for Ke$her if it were released, because it wouldn’t, but it’s undeniably HER.  And it would’ve made a fantastic album track.

Meanwhile, the “Warrior” era has pretty much crawled to a complete stop following “C’Mon’s” disappointing chart performance.  Ke$ha’s going on tour with Pitbull pretty soon, so I wouldn’t be surprised if RCA doesn’t even bother releasing a third single.  Get back in the studio, Ke$h!  Make a new album and don’t let the label push you around this time!  (Easier said than done, I know.)  Check out “Pretty Lady” via YouTube below!
