Shakira has been been keeping a pretty low profile since about 2011, but she’s about to make a big splash with the release of “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” a duet with Roc Nation’s golden girl, Rihanna! “Can’t Remember to Forget You” is produced by frequent Shakira collaborator John Hill (“She Wolf,” “Men In This Town”) and will serve as the lead single from her upcoming tenth studio album. A Joseph Kahn-directed music video has already been shot and the song is due for release on Monday, February 13th. Check out a supposed snippet of the song after the jump! Continue reading
Nobody loves to hype artists on Twitter more than Dr. Luke, and it’s a good thing, too! I love finding out about who the good Doctor is working with! Who could forget the day when Luke so legendarily tweeted Rihanna, “damn… you sound so good!!!!,” before anybody had any idea they were working together, setting the Internet ablaze with speculation and wonder all with a mere 29 characters??
Luke’s latest tweets about Robin Antin’s girl group G.R.L. aren’t quite as life-changing, but they’re certainly informative! Apparently, Luke’s been recording with G.R.L. since yesterday, and today, they finished up a track written by none other than Ester Dean! You may know Ester Dean from the movie, “Pitch Perfect” (she was the butt of all those tasteless lesbian jokes), but you PROBABLY know Ester Dean from her impressive list of pop super hits, like: Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?,” Katy Perry’s “Firework,” and Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It.”
Ester’s worked with Robin Antin’s groups in the past, so her involvement with this project isn’t exactly unexpected, but it certainly is exciting! As I previously reported, G.R.L. has also spent time in the studio with Max Martin and Cirkut, so this is shaping up to be quite a debut! Now if only they’d release some music…
Fans have had to wait a little over 3 years, but Eminem and Rihanna are finally reunited on “The Monster,” the follow-up to the pair’s 2010 ubiquitous smash hit “Love the Way You Lie.” With the bar set almost impossibly high, does “The Monster” live up to the hype? Continue reading
It’s official: Wale’s upcoming album “The Gifted” will include a remix of his hit “Bad” featuring Rihanna. The original version of “Bad,” which already peaked at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, features vocals from talented singer-songwriter Tiara Thomas (who also wrote the hook). Tiara sounds amazing on “Bad,” but I guess Wale felt the song needed a little star power to really get going. After hearing the remix last week, Rolling Stone reported, “Rihanna ups original guest vocalist Tiara Thomas’ ante and proceeds to tear down the place.” Well, that sounds promising. Oh, and I guess Rih’s doing some rapping as well. Interesting, interesting.
Check out a little snippet of the Bad remix above – do you think Rihanna can do the song justice?
A new Sia demo titled, “Beautiful People Say” hit the net yesterday, and it’s a corker. Initially attributed to David Guetta, Sia was quick to point out via Twitter that the song is not a Guetta production and was actually written for another artist. Rihanna, perhaps? Whoever it was written for, they’re a dope for passing it up! “Beautiful people say, ‘Yes’,” is one of the best lines I’ve heard in a pop song in…I don’t even know how long!
Sia is the new Queen of pop music because she knows how to write about partying and drinking and loving and sexing in new, astonishing ways. And that’s what it’s really all about, isn’t it?

Hmm, flattery or shade? British boy band The Wanted premiered their brand new single “Walks Like Rihanna” this morning on Capital FM, and it’s built around the line, “She can’t sing, she can’t dance, but who cares? She walks like Rihanna.” Now just WHAT are these boys trying to say? I saw Rih in concert last month and I can assure you, she CAN sing and she CAN dance, she’s just gonna be an hour and a half late to the show!
All kidding aside, I don’t think the boys are really trying to shade Rihanna. She’s even bigger in the U.K. than she is in the U.S. and it would be a huge mistake (not to mention the fact that she would drag them to the pits on every form of social media imaginable). Still, the lyrics can be easily misconstrued and you better believe the Beyonce stans are having a field day.
MTV reports that “Walks Like Rihanna” is produced by hit-maker Dr. Luke, and to be honest, it sounds a little more One Direction than The Wanted, but I still like it. The, “Our hearts go boom, boom! Boom, boom!” bit is quite adorable.

If this random Twitter user is to be believed, Selena Gomez’s new single “Come & Get It” is produced by Norwegian duo Stargate and written by Ester Dean. Stargate and Ester have been making hits together for a minute (Rihanna’s “Rude Boy,” “What’s My Name?,” “S&M,” “Where Have You Been,” and Katy’s “Firework”), so if this is true…
